Countdown VS England was uploaded on the Channel 4 Sport YouTube channel on 23 March 2023.
Four English professional footballers were playing in a mini-tournament. James Maddison played Eric Dier, and then John Stones played Luke Shaw. The winners of each of the two three-round games battled in the final conundrum-only game.
Rachel Riley acted as host in addition to her role as arithmetician. Bukayo Saka took the role of the lexicographer for this special episode.
