Gordon Smith was a contestant in Series 35. He was the seventh heat opponent of Dag Griffiths, and was shown briefly at the end of Dag's sixth appearance the previous day. With Dag having won all six of his appearances without having faced a Crucial Conundrum up to that point, when Ricahrd Whiteley asked Gordon how he fancied his chances against Dag the following day, Gordon famously replied "I've just come for the goody bag!". Despite a reasonable start which saw him trailing by only six points at half-time, he was eventually convincingly beaten 21 - 60 by the evetual series runner-up.
