Series 94 is the current series of Countdown. It began on 29 June 2026, and is expected to end on 18 December 2026.
Episode 8803 was broadcast at 14:35 to accommodate the live practice of the 2026 British Grand Prix.
This series is notable for being the first to abolish the long-standing "restaurant rule", meaning the plural forms of every mass noun will be rendered invalid unless the ODP entry specifies it in a count noun sense. Prior to this change, plural forms of mass nouns were permitted on the basis that the dictionary entry denoted an item that could be ordered in multiple quantities in a restaurant such as POLENTA and TIRAMISU.
Apterites that have appeared in the series to date include Karen Pearson (the rollover contestant from the previous series), with Cammy Lovatt due to make his return to the show on 19 August.
