Cameron 'Cammy' Lovatt was a contestant in Series 75, and an octochamp in Series 94. As of his first set of appearances, he was a secondary school student from South Lanarkshire. As of his return (having since moved to Antrim, County Antrim in Northern Ireland), he was a night-shift supermarket retail specialist. He is also an experienced Apterite who joined the site in 2017 after his first round of games, and will almost certainly be back for the end-of-series finals in December. In his spare time, he was noted to be a keen marathon runner and overall general fitness fanatic.

In his first round of games (going by Cammy), he managed to notch up two victories. But in his third game, Lovatt faced and was defeated by Annie Humphries who went on to become an octochamp and return for the Series 76 finals in June 2017. When Humphries returned for the quarter-finals, Lovatt accompanied her to the studios and was thanked by Nick Hewer in the show's opening.
Series 94
Heat Games
As a result of that unfortunate pairing and with a hefty amount of Apterous experience now logged, Cameron came back for another go just over a decade later. He was given another tough opponent in century scorer and fellow Scot, Matthew McGregor. In spite of that and after falling behind in the first numbers round, Lovatt eventually hit the bullseye with the crucial spot of DOSIMETER to lead with a well-deserved century on his debut. His triumphant return was topped off by the impressive spotting of the conundrum IRREGULAR, achieving the current best debut score of the series with 114; by coincidence in his first set of games, he hadn't spotted any of the conundrums.
His third game against fellow returnee, Lee Nixon, proved to be even tougher. After both players chalked up centuries (that included the nine-letter word spot of PARASITES), Nixon spotted the conundrum of PURPOSING and Lovatt was drawn into a tiebreak of JINGORICE. He turned the former into REJOICING within 0.25 seconds to barely stay in the champion's chair. His remaining five heat games were not straightforward either; in spite of that, he did manage to score four further centuries and had no further crucial conundrums, which was combined with overall solid performances in the numbers rounds.
He managed to spot two other nine-letter words available to him: those being HARMONISE and REGULATES. Those were paired alongside other great word spots throughout his heats such as DELOUSES, UMBRAGE, CAUDATE, RESOLING, LUTENIST, TONNEAUS, SARCOID, TETRAPOD and CARRIOLE. After scoring a personal best of thirteen maxes in his eighth game against Greg O'Dowd, Lovatt secured octochampdom with a final total of 876 (the same as Mark Finnerty in Series 89). This let Cameron (who was by coincidence the last octochamp to have their full name on their nameplate) take the provisional No. 1 seed from Karen Pearson with just under four months of heat games to still be broadcast.

Lovatt has also participated in multiple series of ZoomDown: losing in Series 1 to Hazel Drury, in Series 3 to Graeme Cole, and in Series 4 to the eventual winner Rachael Montgomery.
