Amey Deshpande was a contestant in Series 56, attaining octochamp status with 718 points; good for #4 seed. Amey's debut came on 16th January 2007, defeating Ian Volante.

In the quarter finals, Amey faced Anita Freeland. Anita proved too good on the day, winning the game on the final numbers round.
