Cindy Ritson is the production assistant on Countdown. She is notable for being the only remaining original member of the Countdown team, from its inception in 1982. This record stands since the departure of Carol Vorderman in 2008.
It has been suggested that some other members such as camera crew have been on the series as long, but as they are not credited this cannot be confirmed.
On 2nd November 2009, her 27-year contribution to the programme was acknowledged at the beginning of the show.
