8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 5, Episode 4 was a special episode broadcast on 23 January 2015, as part of 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups Series 5.
8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Reginald D. Hunter and Aisling Bea who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Aisling Bea, winning by 62 – 34 in an 8-rounder.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician, and Joe Wilkinson helped her out from round 5 onwards. The Dictionary Corner guest was Holly Walsh, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
NB: In round 5, the selection consisted of 15 letters, but unlike the last more than 9 letters were used (back in round 7 of 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 3, Episode 3), 9 letter words were given a score of 18 points, so based on that theory, the maximum available 11 letter word of FANTASISERS is being scored as a 22-pointer, for reference only.
