Series 83 is the next series of Countdown and the eighteenth series presented by Nick Hewer. It will be preceded by three special episodes after the finals of Series 82, and will run from January 2021, with recordings beginning in October 2020.
Social distancing guidelines introduced in the second half of the previous series, including a ban on studio audiences, will remain in place for the foreseeable future to suppress COVID-19. It remains unknown when these will be lifted.
