The return of the original set from 2017, after nearly 2.5 years!

Episode 7877 was broadcast on 24 October 2022, as part of Series 86.

Lewis Castling-Morey played Alex Cooke, with Lewis Castling-Morey winning 87 – 77. The Dictionary Corner guest was Dave Gorman, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

This episode was the first in which the social distancing requirement in the studio, enforced since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, was reduced from two metres to one metre; as such, the original symmetrical configuration of the set was brought back. In addition, no adverts aired during the first break, as Channel 4 instead aired a news report that Rishi Sunak was the new Prime Minister.

NOTE: Dictionary Corner suggested unfast ☓ in Round 7, but it could not be found in the ODP edition in use at the time.
