Ryan Styles was an octochamp in Series 82. He's an Exams Officer from Mitcham, Surrey.

Styles made his début in the 35th episode of the series, where he comfortably unseated one-time winner Steve Collins with a century. The next day, Styles amassed 120 points, with flawless numbers rounds and a spot of his first nine-letter word ROADSTERS. Despite flagging with 74 points out of a possible 162 in his fourth victory, Styles bounced back and climbed to a personal best of 128 points in his seventh game against previous Series 61 contestant Paul Varlaam. On his eighth appearance, Styles scored his fifth century and became the third octochamp of the series with a cumulative score of 820 points, six below Ian Volante's 826.

Following a 14-week hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, number 5-ranked Styles returned in December 2020 to play his quarter-final match against number 4-ranked Volante.
