| + | :::::::::: Yes, I would certainly prefer for the box to be there all the time, so that people become accustomed to seeing it. If it keeps disappearing, people are likely to forget about it. I think your stopgap message works well, although with the current thirst for extra tournaments to be added to the calendar, it is likely that it wouldn't stay that way very long :-) Best wishes, --Vande 09:37, 4 February 2010 (UTC) | ||

| + | ==Featured Articles== | ||
| + | |||
| + | Hello Crispy, | ||
| + | |||
| + | Could you give us some notification if there will be another featured article for august. As you will see on Countdown:Featured articles, I have made a few more proposals, going on the basis that they have the same amount of detail as <del>Harvey Freeman</del>, who went on to become an FA. I'm not going to start nagging about Scott Mearns, but I really do think he should be in there for August. Anyway, back to the point, and could you please tell us whether the will be another Featured Article for August 2010. Please. Please. | ||

| + | Yours Faithfully, | ||

| + | : Try and avoid making such a mess around here, Doctor! ;-) I'd suggest the article for Scott Mearns has all of the content prerequisite for a featured article, but is let down by the general tone in places - i.e., it doesn't quite feel encyclopaedic. That said, there will definitely be a new FA for August, for which I will make preparations nearer the end of the month. I normally give articles a little proofread and a tidy during this process, but if you want to you are welcome to have a go at 'beefing it up' yourself. | ||
| + | : As an example, I can see immediately that the introductory paragraph needs extending. It needs to be longer than the Twitter-esque summary that it is at the moment, but not so long that it contains every fact from the body of the article. For a good example of the ideal length in my opinion, see the article for Stewart Holden. | ||

| + | I only put this in because all the other formats have their own page. I thought it would be best to make up the set. The Doctor 13:44, 13 July 2010 (BST) | ||
| + | : That's fair enough, but I feel that just because there is a gap it doesn't mean it needs filling. As they say, a composition is not about the notes you use but rather the notes you leave out. I'll leave the page for a few days as I am happy to listen if anyone has a particularly strong reason for it to remain. Please don't take my actions on the wiki this afternoon as negative, by the way - your enthusiasm is greatly appreciated. I just have to keep an eye on things like consistency with other pages which are easily forgotten when you're passionately writing away. :-) | ||

| + | : I suspect you'll come across a few on your travels if you're doing a lot of work on the wiki this week. | + | : I think I've got a satisfactory solution to the Series 2 progress chart; it eliminates the need for either another template or the numeric redirects. See The Doctor's talk page.--Drawoh 09:32, 14 July 2010 (BST) | ||

Welcome to the talk page for the user Crispy. Please feel free to leave him your comments, criticisms, suggestions and marriage proposals below. Your signatureChris, you can sign your posts with ~~~~ instead of typing it out longhand. :-) Countdown Kid 21:51, 27 June 2009 (BST)
Wednesday recapsI agree with Howard, I think you'd do a great job with the Wednesday recaps. Countdown Kid 13:17, 28 June 2009 (BST) October's Featured ArticleYay! Kai Laddiman 09:07, 3 October 2009 (BST)
Partial recapsHi, I've noticed that you've removed a few episode pages from Category:Partial recaps. Please don't do so without checking that all the game data is there. Check that there is the full number of rounds for the format in use at the time. Check that every letters or numbers round includes both contestants' declarations (or a dash wherever there was no declaration). Check that the numbers rounds include the contestants' solutions where required by the game, and not just the declarations. -- Smjg 17:11, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
TournamentsA while ago I mooted the idea of having a little Upcoming Tournaments box on the front page, so that people can just refer to the Wiki when they want to know if there is anything in which they can take part. Now that you are an editor, what do you think about this? There is still a little bit of space in the corner of the front page which would be ideal. Vande 11:14, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Front PageWell done with the changes! I've just read the trailer for forthcoming Co-events, and noticed that you've linked to the wrong St Hughs church in Lincoln. CoLin is at St Hughs in North Hykeham, not St Hughs in cental Lincoln. Drawoh 10:00, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
'Save page' vs. 'Show preview'Hi Countdowner, Thanks for your interest in and contributions to this Wiki. Whilst your enthusiasm is undoubted and very much appreciated, I've noticed that when you're editing a particular page, you have a habit of making many small changes and saving the page in between. Whilst this ensures that your work is not lost, working in this manner has the effect of clogging up the list of recent changes - at the last count, 43 of the 50 most recent edits belonged to you, though you've only actually edited five pages! Don't worry - I'm not telling you off and you've not really done anything wrong. It's just harder for other editors to track the changes made to the Wiki when there are so many from one person. In future, when you are making a series of edits to one page and you want to see how they look, please don't press the 'Save page' button every time. Instead, if you press the 'Show preview' button in between smaller edits you can build them up into one big edit and just press the 'Save page' button once at the end. This will keep the page history clearer and easier to read and avoids upsetting other editors. I hope I've explained this clearly. If not, please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Best wishes, Chris 'Crispy' Philpot 23:01, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
