- For the three-day mini-series featuring young contestants in Series 47, see Junior Championship. For the unsuccessful children's pilot, see Junior Countdown.
Junior is a variant of Countdown played on Apterous. Whilst Hyper is an extended version, Junior is a pared-down version of the game.
Letters games
Letters selections contain seven letters rather than the normal nine. Like regular Countdown, players only score double points for using all the letters, so seven-letter words are worth 14 points.
Numbers games
There is only one large number (10); smalls are 1–9. Players are given five working numbers rather than six, and the target is 11–100.
Conundrums
Answers are seven letters and are generally common words.
