Chris Kirby played Fiona Wood, with Fiona Wood winning 96 – 89. The Dictionary Corner guest was Christopher Biggins, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
By solving the conundrum, Fiona became the first female champion since Kate Ogilvie won Series 39 back in 1998 and only the sixth in the show's 42-year history.
This was also the first series grand final to be decided by a crucial conundrum since Series 80.
