Luke Selway was an octochamp in Series 93 from East Grinstead, West Sussex. As at the time of broadcast, he was the Head of EMEA Consultant Relations for an investment management firm, having spent almost 25 years working in the industry. He is also an experienced Apterite, having joined the site in 2020 with almost 20,000 games played to date.

Luke kicked off by dispatching returning contestant, and fellow Apterite Euan Crabb on his debut, winning by 45 points, maxing 11 rounds and knocking up a century, although Crabb got the last word by spotting the conundrum CORIANDER. He then followed this with seven further victories, which were also all centuries. Of particular note in his seventh game, having already spotted LEVITATED during his third heat, he spotted three nines in that one game alone: UNLOADERS, GEOMATICS, and DONATIVES.

He wrapped up with a personal low score of 101 in his eighth victory; despite scoring in the first thirteen rounds, he blanked out in the last two in which his last heat opponent, Brian Platts, spotted the conundrum of AUTOPILOT. Regardless, this made him the fourth octochamp of Series 93 within two months, gave him a final total of 913 points to put him comfortably in the provisional No. 1 position in the seed table, ahead of Daniel Face, but with nearly four months of heats to still be filmed and broadcast. Colin Murray anointed him "008" as a final testament to his achievements to date.
