8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 20 was a series of three special episodes that began on 31 July 2020 and is expected to end on 21 December 2020 with a Christmas Special. The first three episodes were recorded prior to the COVID-19 pandemic as evident by the presence of audience members coupled with the fact that Rachel Riley was still pregnant with her first and only child to date for the first two episodes.

Based on the air dates over the last two years, there were supposed to have been an additional three episodes until 4 September. However, due to the aforementioned pandemic which triggered the first nationwide lockdown, filming for these episodes was unable to proceed and was replaced by 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown: Best Bits. It also remains yet to be seen how the show has adapted in order to comply with safe distancing measures.
