8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 22 is the current series of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown that began on 24 December 2021 with a Christmas special. This was the first series to be broadcast since the death of Team Captain Sean Lock in mid-August. An image of him on the show with an accompanying caption acknowledged this during the aforementioned episode.

All episodes were recorded prior to Rachel going on maternity leave to give birth to her second daughter. Notably, plexiglass separating both celebrities within a team have been removed. However, the one in Dictionary Corner has been retained to due to insufficient space for safe distancing.
