Episode Cats30, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 6, Episode 3 was a special episode broadcast on 23 January 2015, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 6.

8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Reginald D. Hunter and Aisling Bea who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Aisling Bea, winning by 62 – 34 in an 8-rounder and they won a Countdown tool belt.

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician, and Joe Wilkinson "helped" her out from round 5 onwards. The Dictionary Corner guest was Holly Walsh, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

In Round 2, Rachel failed to reach the actual target and as punishment, Jimmy ordered her to eat chili on camera much to her discomfort. It was most probably because of this incident that all numbers games where the target can be reached on this version of the show will have the solution presented. (This was evident in 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 15, Episode 2 some three years later when Rachel jumped back to Round 4 when she obtained the solution after Round 6.)

NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.

NOTE 2: In Round 5, the selection consisted of 15 letters, but unlike the last time where more than 9 letters were used (back in Round 7 of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 4, Episode 3), 9 letter words were given a score of 18 points, so based on that theory, the sole maximum available 11 letter word of FANTASISERS at that time is being scored as a 22-pointer. It is also worth noting the letters used are of a different font and size to those normally used, thus a hanger was used to fit all the letters into the space.
