8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 9, Episode 2 was a special episode broadcast on 12 August 2016, as part of 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups Series 9.

8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Roisin Conaty and Nish Kumar, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Nish Kumar, winning by 32 – 22 in an 7-rounder.

Rachel Riley was the arithmetician for this episode. The Dictionary Corner guest was Adam Buxton, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Mr. Motivator (Derrick Evans) and Martin Offiah, a famous fitness figure on GMTV and a rubgy player respectively appeared for the 30 seconds on Round 3. Interestingly, Roisin provided a 7-letter word in that same round even though she was not playing which was "VERSION".

In Round 5, despite Roisin misdeclaring she had a 5-letter word when it was actually six, points were still awarded to her team.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
