8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 9, Episode 3 was a special episode broadcast on 19 August 2016, as part of 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups Series 9.

8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with David O'Doherty and Natasia Demetriou, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of David O'Doherty, winning by 42 – 20 in an 7-rounder.

Rachel Riley was the arithmetician for this episode. The Dictionary Corner guest was John Kearns, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Interestingly, a child disguised as "Mini-Jon" was acting along during the 30 seconds in Round 3 after Jimmy watered a plant pot and sprouted out from it.

David's answer to the conundrum also had a distinction of having majority of the letters (five) not being present in the selection.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
