8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 9, Episode 9 was a special episode broadcast on 15 October 2016, as part of 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups Series 9.

8 Out of 10 Cats regular Sean Lock was a contestant, along with Victoria Coren Mitchell who were against acting team captain Lee Mack and Bob Mortimer, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Victoria Coren Mitchell, winning by 40 – 24 in an 8-rounder.

Rachel Riley was the arithmetician for this episode. The Dictionary Corner guest was Alex Horne and the Horne Section, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

In Round 2 and Round 4, Alex Horne and the Horne Section played the music in replacement for the standard one, what's interesting is that the clock hand did not move at all for Round 2.

In Round 5, Lee Mack declared he was two away, although in which direction was not known, thus both possible answers he got are shown here. Also, Victoria Coren Mitchell after realising she could have got the target said another solution which is shown here: (50 ÷ 5 x 75) - (9 - 6 + 2). Her answer was also not accepted as it was not an integer but her solution is still shown here anyways.

Also, in the conundrum, Lee Mack's answer had a distinction of majority of the letters (five) not being present in the selection.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
