Kate Ritchie

Kate Ritchie was a finalist in Series 43. She had a close game on her debut, beating two time winner Jonathan Storey on a crucial conundrum. She then reeled off five more victories before losing to Daniel Burton. SHe returned for the quarter finals but this time lost a crucial conundrum against Claire Wright.

Away from Countdown Kate is best known for playing Sally in Australian TV soap, "Home and Away". She played the character for twenty years. Her appearances on countdown were reference in Home and Away in a December 2000 episode of the soap where Sally states that she "spotted Welcoming in three seconds" a reference to the crucial conundrum on her first game.
