Rory Bremner is a guest on Countdown. He's an impressionist and comedian, known for his roles on shows such as Spitting Image, Bremner, Bird and Fortune, and for being one of the original panellists on Mock the Week. He also hosted Face the Clock, a short-lived game show that followed Countdown in the schedules in 2013.

Twelve years before his debut in Dictionary Corner, Bremner had made a cameo appearance, in character as then Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, selecting the letters in Episode 4473, to celebrate the 25th birthday of Countdown.

He appeared fairly regularly towards the end of Nick Hewer's episodes, did Colin Murray's first four, did Anne Robinson's first four, and then didn't return for a full two years. Almost as if he wanted to be certain that Anne Robinson was gone before coming back.
