Eileen Whitworth played Linda Munden, with Linda Munden winning 44 – 30. The Dictionary Corner guest was Carol Thatcher, and the lexicographer was Della Thompson.
This was the first show of the 1990s. It was also the first to feature the short-lived thick-letter tiles, which replaced the red-letter tiles.
In reference to the conundrum on this episode, the items in the Countdown goody bag were referred to as "nickernogs" several times in Series 19 and 20.
