8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7, Episode 6 was a special episode broadcast on 19 June 2015, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7.
8 Out of 10 Cats regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Lee Mack were the contestants, along with Vic Reeves and Sara Pascoe who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Lee Mack, with the assistance of Sara Pascoe, winning by 28 – 26 in a 7-rounder and they won a Countdown picnic hamper.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Alex Horne and the Horne Section, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:
1) A H from the letters board was flung across the studio by Rachel towards Sara as she claimed her name should be "Sarah" instead and placed beside the nameplate for her team. This would remain for the entire duration of the show.
2) While introducing the Prize for the show, the set in which the models was on accidentally collided with the right side of the main table in the Studio. While it caused no noticeable damage to the table, it did cause the seat Fabio was seating on to collapse. For unknown reasons, this was not refilmed.
3) Alex challenged himself to drink finish a huge mug of beer within the 30 seconds in Round 4. He did finish it, albeit with several spills on his suit and a short pause.
NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
NOTE 2: In Round 5, Sara's offering of POTTLE should have been allowed, as it is in the dictionary. Coupled with that, while Lee guessed the correct answer NUMBERING in the Conundrum immediately after Sean gave his answer, the decision to give points was overruled by the directors as for unknown reasons, they were not allowed to buzz in again similar to the rules of the original game. Thus, the score for the match should have been 44 – 22.
