Mary (possibly Mary Craig although her surname was never given) was a lexicographer on Countdown. She was a graduate from the University of Leeds.

She was the first woman to appear on Channel 4 (unbeknown to many who think that Carol Vorderman was actually the first) and the very first lexicographer on the show. A glimpse of her was shown when Ted Moult introduced his assistant. She appeared throughout Series 1 and may have appeared in Series 2 as well.
