8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 6 was a series of seven special episodes that began on 29 December 2014 with a Christmas Special and ended on 13 February 2015.
Notably, the Christmas Special was the first time a seven-round format was used, discounting the original 30-minute backdoor pilot. It has since become a permanent fixture on the show (although some eight-round games were played up until 2019) to allow more time for comedic and anecdotal sections
Besides this, the series was noticeable for three things: Jon Richardson missed his first episode of the show for the first time since it began in 2012, the highest bonus points of 843 ever awarded on the show in Episode 2 and Joe Wilkinson leaving the show as his role as the Arithmetician after 6 February 2015 despite Jimmy Carr insisting that he no longer works for the show since the Christmas Special.
