Episode 3000 was broadcast on 27 April 2001, as part of Series 44.
Paul Hawkins played Raymond Reece, with Paul Hawkins winning 51 – 31. The Dictionary Corner guest was Keith Barron, and the lexicographer was Tania Styles.
On its original transmission, it was followed by the documentary A Tribute to Countdown: 3000 and Counting.
