Shemina Kirby

Shemina Kirby, 18 years after her first appearance, in Series 92.

Shemina 'Shem' Kirby was a contestant in Series 57 and 92. At the time of both of her appearances, she was a biomedical scientist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, while also living in Oxfordshire.

In her first appearance, she had the misfortune of running into octochamp and series champion Craig Beevers who dispatched Kirby without too much trouble.

But, upon her return 17-and-a-half years later, she made a much greater mark, securing a teapot with a closely faught victory over Mel Smith in the first show of Series 92, and she then followed it up with six further victories, before just losing out on octochampdom to Chas McLaughlin. With 615 points from seven appearances, time will only tell if that is enough for the end-of-series finals in December.
