The first ever episode was shown immediately before the game, and notable celebrities were chosen to select the letters and numbers, rather than Wills and Travers selecting them themselves.
Chris Wills played Conor Travers, with Conor Travers winning 69 – 58. The game is notable as being the only 12-round game in Countdown history. The episode also didn't feature a Dictionary Corner guest, although Alison Heard was the lexicographer, nor any Teatime Teasers.
