Episode Cats85, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 13, Episode 2 was a special episode broadcast on 29 June 2017, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 13.

Acting Team Captain Lee Mack and Regular Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Victoria Coren Mitchell and Jonathan Ross who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Lee Mack, with the assistance of Victoria Coren Mitchell, winning by 52 – 47 in an 7-rounder and they won a Countdown bread bin complimentary with fruits.

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Jessie Cave, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Just before Round 5, the teams took part in "The Stupidest Quiz on Television" involving general trivia. Lee's team won the game with the score at 2 – 1, thus five points were awarded to his team.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) During the Introduction, as Lee was introducing his mascot, he mentioned a snowy environment on the day of thie episode's filming. Ironically, it aired in the summer, so it wouldn't have made any sense.

2) Throughout the show, Jon Richardson made different balloon sculptures for the show, including a butterfly before Round 1, a poodle during the first Teaser, a flower in Round 4 and a motorcycle in Round 6, in which one of the "tyres" burst, to which Jon said to Jonathan that he was an "ungrateful bastard". Lee joined in during Round 4 by making a dog with its "legs amputated".

3) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, the clock music was replaced by a bagpipe rendition of Wake Me Up by Avicii followed by the end tune of the clock to signify the time being up. Also, Victoria and Jonathan both declared they had a six-letter word in Round 1 initially, but after spotting an alternate seven-letter word each, Jimmy declared he was not going to stick to the proper rules and declared both their seven-letter words valid.

4) During the 30 seconds in Round 3, as Jimmy was "choking", an uncredited "paramedic" was seen "assisting" him by "holding him tight" and "swinging" him around.

5) During the third Teaser, Jonathan gave his coat to Jon as the former was feeling hot and the latter was feeling cold.

6) During the 30 seconds in Round 6, "car mechanics" transformed an old lady's motorised bike into a "pimped" up version with Turn Down For What by DJ Snake being played while she was driving away at the end.

NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.

NOTE 2: Unusually in Rounds 3 and 4, both team captains and both normal team players were against each other respectively, contrary to the usual style of having the normal team player playing against the opposing team captain. This format would be used in subsequent episodes until 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 16.
