Game scores

  • The highest possible score was available in Episode 3967, when four niners and a number of other favourable rounds made for a possible 173. Both contestants missed all the available nines and failed to make a century.
  • The lowest possible score was 105, which included an impossible numbers game and a series of difficult letters rounds.

Round scores

  • The record score after 2 rounds is an unbeatable 36, held by Julia Wilkinson following her double-nine opening in Episode 3280, and also by Jill Bright in episode 2271. Jill's feat is even more impressive, as her opponent missed both nines, giving Jill a 36-point lead after 2 rounds.

Total scores

Words

  • The most nines found by one contestant in one game is 4; Julian Fell found SALMONIDS, DEPORTING, INGATHERS and DEFLATION in his record-breaking game.
  • The longest word to come up in order was LOUNGED.
  • Carl McDermott made the same declaration (six) in 8 consecutive letters rounds.

Conundrums

  • Julian Fell is the only person to solve all 8 conundrums during his heats.
  • Fell also holds the record for lifetime conundrums solved; 14 solutions in his 16 appearances (including the special episode with Chris Wills.)
