Ben was granted the #1 seed berth thanks to a better highest score than Phil. In the quater-final he faced Brian Capper - the player Phil had beaten to start his six game run. Phil was trailing 80 – 89 after 14 rounds and needed the conundrum to continue his run, but it was Brian that turned ACROBATSD into word BROADCAST to win the game and go on to face Steve Sandalls in the semi-final.
