Stewart Gordon was a finalist in Series 56.
He began his run by defeating Chris Walledge on 21 May 2007 to take the champion's chair. He then secured five wins before losing to Dundas Keating on a crucial conundrum, in which neither player could turn DESPERMIT into DISTEMPER. Gordon's 533 points secured him the #8 seed spot for the series finals.
Gordon met Aaron Webber in the quarter finals. Webber looked to have secured the victory when declaring the final numbers game spot-on when 11 points ahead, however a mistake in his working let Gordon back into the game. When neither player could turn IDEALSNOG into ALONGSIDE in the allotted time, Webber just scraped into the semifinals.
In the same year, Gordon competed in the unofficial COLIN 2007 tournament, and subsequently in COLIN 2008, CoNot 2008, CoLei 2008, CoNot 2009, COLIN 2010, CoLei3, COLIN 2011 and CoLei4.
Gordon has Asperger syndrome, a condition he shares with series 57 octochamp Jeffrey Hansford and at least one series champion.
Gordon also created cdsolve, a program which solves any Countdown numbers game.
