Series 57 ran from June 2007 to December 2007. The second of four series hosted by Des O'Connor, it was won by Craig Beevers. Six players qualified as Octochamps while two players won seven and lost the final game. Craig Beevers eased past Mikey Lear but #2 seed James Hurrell lost a close game to Steve Baines on a crucial conundrum. Jeffrey Hansford was held to a crucial conundrum by David Von Geyer, but Hansford spotted PARQUETRY in less than half a second, amazing the spectators in the studio. David Edwards faced James Roberts in the final quarter-final, and David won. The first semi-final brought no surprises as Craig Beevers won with almost twice as many points as David Edwards, and Jeffrey Hansford beat Steve Baines. The conundrum in this game was controversial because Hansford buzzed in straight away, but made a small hesitation before giving the answer to Des and Des duly disallowed it. Baines who of course already had the answer let the time run out and didn't take the ten points.

In the final, Beevers was on good form and spotted the maximum solution from every game apart from the first numbers. He beat Hansford with AMMONITE, SNIFTER and OUTRANGE and the final numbers game to give him an unassailable lead after 14 rounds. In typical style, Hansford buzzed in less than a second with the right answer, this time allowed by Des. Surprisingly, neither player returned for the following Championship of Champions tournament.
