Conor Travers was the first contestant to achieve the Richard Whiteley Memorial Trophy (seen here with Des Lynam and Carol Vorderman).
The Richard Whiteley Memorial Trophy is a trophy that is named in the memory of Richard Whiteley after his sad death in Summer 2005. Since his death after Series 53, the trophy has been presented to each of the series winners since Series 54 (see series winners, for a list of all the Countdown champions). Each winner has their name engraved on the trophy.
