Revision as of 18:01, 21 December 2020
Episode S47 was broadcast on 21 December 2020, as the first of the 2020 Christmas special episodes, and was between two former contestants based in Bingley in Yorkshire.
Tom Carey played George Armstrong, with Tom Carey winning 122 – 110. The Dictionary Corner guest was Rory Bremner, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
This was the first episode presented by Colin Murray, whilst Nick Hewer shielded at home during England's second COVID-19 lockdown.
Additionally, the Teatime Teasers were renamed as "Tinsel Teasers" by Murray for the Christmas specials. On the return from the advert break after the first teaser, however, he incorrectly stated the clue as "ice and hymns are part of Christmas, and so are these".
Both contestants opted to yield their numbers picks over to the presenters - rounds three, six, and nine were chosen by Riley, and round 14 by Murray.
NOTE: The conundrum was originally BAUBLEDIT which Carey solved, however it did not make the final cut due to a technical fault with the digital conundrum board, so it was replaced.
