William Gladstone Stewart was a guest presenter of Countdown. He was a veteran TV producer and question-master who was most famous for hosting and producing Fifteen to One from 1988 to 2003 in which at one time, filled Countdown's regular slot between series. And then eventually was broadcast before Countdown, making up a quiz hour on Channel 4 on weekday afternoons until the 15-round format was introduced in Autumn 2001.
He presented the retrospective programme of Countdown: The 2000th Edition and the 1997 Countdown Christmas special, where Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman played against each other.
He sadly died on 21 September 2017.
