David Law in Series 81.

David Law was an octochamp in Series 81. He is a Retired Bank Official from Moreton in The Wirral, but is originally from Oxfordshire.

He first appeared on 19 August 2019 against Stephen Mellor, and won with 89 points to Mellor's 80. He then put in seven more good performances in his next seven games and ultimately rounded off his heat run with 700 points to become the fourth octochamp of the series.

He returned for the series finals on 12 December 2019, as the number 8 seed, playing in the first quarter-final against number 1 seed James Haughton. However, Haughton overpowered Law very early on in the game by scoring the theoretical maximum number of points in the first half with two nines and 10 points in the first numbers round to lead 46 – 0. Law however fought back, and even defeated Haughton in one letters round, but it wasn't enough and he took his first defeat. Law garnered a total of 760 points in his run.
