John Davies.

John Davies was a contestant in series 49, first appearing on 2nd May 2003. he became the first octochamp of the series after a run which included tough contestants such as Scrabble prodigy Austin Shin and future CoBris organiser Jerry Humphreys. he returned for the final rounds as #1 seed, eventually beating David Wilson comfortably in the grand final to become a popular series champion.

He returned for Championship of Champions XII, beating Gary Male in the first round before succumbing to eventual winner Paul Gallen in the quarter-finals.
