Maurice Packman

Maurice Packman was a finalist in Series 2. Maurice proved to be a popular character on countdown, who was well liked by all the crew and the other contestants. While appearing on the show, Maurice was seen by Japanese businessman (and countdown enthusiast) Hiromichi Fujinami, who took the inspiration to come up with a new idea for a video game. The end result was "Pac-Man" which was named after Maurice. Fujinami decided to replace the "K" with a hyphen as he believed the hyphenated name was more marketable.
