The Edinburgh Countdown club is a club where members meet to play Countdown. It was founded on 10th October 1989 by Nita Marr and Jenny Haldane, two previous contestants on the show. There were originally 15 members, but this has expanded considerably over the years. Several past contestants are members, including Sheila Mann, Jonathan Glasser, Fred Casely, Melanie Beaumont, David Reid and William Sutherland.

At least once a year, notable former contestants on the show such as series winners and octochamps are invited to a tournament over four games. Unlike the COLIN and CoBris events, the final rankings are decided by total points, and not wins and losses. The highest ranked "guest" and the highest ranked "club player" face off in an exhibition final to decide an overall winner of the event. Former winners include Chris Wills.

The club was also the venue for the Countdown in Edinburgh tournaments, which were hosted by Nita Marr, Mike Brown and Richard Priest in 2012/13 and 14.
