Michael Calder played Loz Sands, with Loz Sands winning 77 – 60. The Dictionary Corner guest was Martin Jarvis, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

This episode introduced the pink-striped set, replacing the eleven-year long wings set that was in use from Series 22 to 48. The pink-striped set remained in use until the Series 59 grand final.
