Joel Salkin

From Countdown

Joel Salkin was the runner-up of Series 14. He was a "mini-cab" driver from London.

Salkin debuted on 17 November 1987 and won three games before drawing against Derek Rutter. Unfortunately for him, he lost his rematch with Rutter the following Monday. He was able to return for the finals as #7 seed, and beat Stephen Deakin and Frank Houston, achieving impressive scores both times. In the grand final, however, he was outclassed by #1 seed Nic Brown, who became a Xicount by defeating him 108 – 36.

For reasons unknown, despite being a series runner-up, Salkin was never invited to a Championship of Champions or the Supreme Championship.
