Lew Schwarz was an octochamp in Series 21.

Schwarz is the only contestant ever to have two drawn games, but eventually completed an octochamp run in his tenth game, and was number one seed for the finals of Series 21 – the last before tie-break conundrums were introduced the following series. In his quarter-final, however, he finally suffered his first and only defeat to Jackie McLeod.
