Jill Bright was a finalist in Series 38, and was a contestant in the 30th Birthday Championship.
Famously in her second game, she got two nine letter words in the first two rounds. She had a score of 81 going into the conundrum and could have surpassed Allan Saldanha and Stephen Balment's score of 83. However she failed to solve the conundrum and stayed on 81. 81 remains the highest score after 8 rounds of a 9-round game.
She returned to Countdown in 2013, as one of 41 contestants taking part in the 30th Birthday Championship. She received a bye to the first round, but lost her only game to Series 28 quarter-finalist Chris Hawkins by a score of 95 – 51.
She made her CO-event debut at CoChest.
Away from Countdown, Bright is also a competitive Scrabble player.
