In [[Series 47]] Amey made a return to Countdown, taking part in the Juniors mini-tournament. Here, he came up against [[Andrew Hulme]] in the semifinal game and again found himself with the losing score.
 
 
 
Amey's career was not yet over, as on 16th January 2007, he made another return- a controversial move in some eyes by the producers- this time defeating [[Ian Volante]] in [[Series 56]]. He went on to attain [[octochamp]] status with 718 points; good for #4 seed.
