This was enough to make him the #3 seed for the series finals. Horsey started in fine form of 5 October 2006, with a century against Andrew Blades, followed the next day with another century. He completed a trio of centuries during his sixth game, at the expense of David Price.

Horsey faced Joy Longworth in the quarter-finals, winning 76 – 69 despite Longworth getting the conundrum. This booked a semi-final spot against Richard Brittain. With Horsey trailing by eight points going into the crucial conundrum, he needed to unscramble MARYSFOOT to progress. However, neither player could find STYROFOAM in the time, giving Brittain the final berth 83 – 75.
