Giles "The Typhoon" Hutchings was a contestant in Series 68. He is also an Apterite and member of c4countdown.
He made his CO-event debut at CO:REA in April 2012, and then returned for CO:REA 2013. He got to the final and was beaten by the Series 65 semi-finalist, Mark Deeks by 97 – 91. He also appeared at CobliviLon.
Nick Hewer has at times referred to Giles as "The Typhoon" or "The Kid" at various times during the introductions or the games, in a similar way to potential series rival Andy Platt sometimes being called "Formidable".
His mother is the Series 51 quarter-finalist, Nicole Hutchings.
