He made his CO-event debut at CO:REA in April 2012, and then returned for CO:REA 2013. He got to the final and was beaten by the Series 65 semi-finalist, Mark Deeks by 97 – 91. He also appeared at CobliviLon.
His total of 965 points from his 8 preliminary games is the highest in the history of the show.
Nick Hewer has referred to Giles as "The Typhoon" or "The Kid" at various times during the introductions or the games, in a similar way to potential series rival Andy Platt sometimes being called "Formidable".
His mother is the Series 51 quarter-finalist, Nicole Hutchings.
