Sean Fletcher was a finalist in Series 70. He is also an Apterite.
Fletcher began his run with a tie-break conundrum victory over Neil Green, and won 5 more games before losing to Samir Pilica. Returning as number 5 seed for the finals, he once again faced Green, but was not victorious on this occasion.
Fletcher began his heat run by defeating a future finalist (Green), and ended it by losing to another future finalist (Pilica). This has only ever happened to one other person in the 15-round era, with Liam Moloney beating Judy Bursford and losing to Stephen Briggs in Series 73.
